PeaceWorks Foundation
Chief Executive Officer
Anywhere, USA (Remote)
Salary: $190,000 - $220,000
BACKGROUND
The Organization
PeaceWorks Foundation is entering an exciting new chapter. Building on more than 30 years of peacebuilding experience in the Middle East – and the early success of its flagship PeaceWorks on Campus program – the Foundation is seeking a rare kind of leader: a visionary and entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer to help shape what the next generation of peacebuilding can look like.
At a time when extremism is rising, PeaceWorks is uniquely positioned to champion pragmatic, moderate voices and inspire new pathways forward in the Middle East. The PeaceWorks on Campus program – launched in 2024 – has already reached more than 48 campuses and over 3,200 students by bringing Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders into dialogue with future policymakers. The Foundation now stands at an inflection point: ready to scale this work while launching bold, catalytic initiatives in the Middle East, such as Builders Blueprint to rebuild Gaza, which would mobilize peacebuilders, policymakers, and international partners to reimagine what a constructive future for the region could look like.
This is not a traditional nonprofit leadership role. The CEO will be a movement architect and venture builder, and someone who thrives at the intersection of vision and execution. They will scale existing programs, design entirely new efforts, and help build the infrastructure for trust, dialogue, and cooperation in a fractured world.
The ideal CEO is both a bold strategist and hands-on builder: equally energized by shaping big ideas and by creating partnerships, fundraising infrastructure, and organizational culture needed to bring those ideas to life. This is an opportunity to build something new, transformative, and deeply impactful.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Vision & Strategy
• Lead PeaceWorks Foundation into its next phase, scaling PeaceWorks on Campus and envisioning and integrating both bold new initiatives and existing partner initiatives.
• Develop and get buy-in for short- and long-term strategies for growth, innovation, and impact.
• Identify opportunities for PeaceWorks to create new programs that rebuild trust and infrastructure for peace in the region.
• Ensure that bold vision is matched by strong execution, financial sustainability, and measurable impact across PeaceWorks’ initiatives.
Program Leadership & Innovation
• Oversee and expand PeaceWorks on Campus’ new initiatives while championing experimentation and new program models, balancing bold ideas with disciplined implementation.
• Build and oversee systems for program evaluation and continuous improvement, ensuring PeaceWorks’ work is data-informed and outcomes-driven.
• Establish clear metrics for success and report progress to the Board.
Fundraising & External Engagement
• Serve as the storyteller in chief for PeaceWorks, inspiring funders, faculty, students, and international partners with a compelling vision for peacebuilding.
• Ensure consistent, compelling storytelling across programs, fundraising, and public engagement.
• Develop and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy to diversify funding, including individual giving, institutional funding, and new revenue streams.
• Build and maintain deep relationships with key donors and funders, ensuring consistent and meaningful stewardship to scale support.
Organizational Leadership & Operations
• Develop and grow a small, talented, mission-driven team.
• Hold ultimate accountability for operational effectiveness, financial health, and internal systems in a lean, scaling organization.
• Ensure strong budgeting, operations, and financial controls to enable scalability.
• Leverage strong shared-services infrastructure (finance, HR, and technology support) via the Lubetzky Family Foundation, to support growth and new programs.
• Build a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a thought partner and relationship manager to the Board, ensuring strong governance, regular communication, strategic alignment, and shared ownership of organizational direction.
• Partner with Founder and Board Chair, Daniel Lubetzky, to translate bold vision to scalable strategy while preserving the entrepreneurial culture of PeaceWorks.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
