Founded in 1946, Magen David Yeshivah is an Early Childhood through Grade 12 Jewish day school rooted in Sephardic tradition and anchored in Jewish law. For generations, MDY has been committed to providing a comprehensive dual-curriculum education that emphasizes academic excellence, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. Through both Judaic and General Studies, the school equips students to engage confidently with an ever-changing modern world through the prism of Torah values, while cultivating within them a deep understanding of and love for the people, land, and State of Israel. The Position

The High School Principal serves as the educational and administrative leader of Magen David Yeshivah’s High School, which currently serves approximately 440 students. The Principal stewards a vibrant learning community dedicated to academic excellence, creativity, intellectual curiosity, Torah values, personal growth, and a deep commitment to the Jewish people and the State of Israel. Reporting to senior school leadership, the Principal is responsible for setting the strategic vision for the High School, fostering a culture of achievement and respect, and ensuring the successful implementation of a comprehensive dual-curriculum. This highly visible leader partners closely with faculty, students, parents, rabbis, and community stakeholders to nurture each student’s unique strengths and talents, cultivate exceptional teaching, and advance the school’s mission of developing broadly educated, ethical, self-confident, and compassionate Torah-observant young adults prepared for college, career, community service, and lifelong learning.

• Ensure the successful implementation of a rigorous, comprehensive dual-curriculum education that promotes academic excellence, creativity, intellectual curiosity, mastery of sacred texts and Hebrew language, and strong preparation for colleges, universities, and careers in a rapidly evolving global marketplace.

Student Development

• Foster an environment in which students thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually, nurturing their unique strengths and talents while promoting personal responsibility, Jewish identity, pride in heritage, community service, and a deep love for Torah, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel.

Faculty Leadership and Development

• Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and support a high-performing faculty and administrative team, cultivating a culture of continuous growth, collaboration, and instructional excellence.

Role Overview

The High School Principal leads all aspects of the High School’s academic, student life, and operational functions. As the chief educational leader of the division, the Principal champions academic excellence, creativity, intellectual curiosity, Torah values, faculty development, student success, and community engagement while ensuring the school remains a premier destination for Jewish education and leadership development.

School Culture and Community Building

• Strengthen a positive, respectful, and inclusive school culture that reflects Magen David Yeshivah’s traditions, nurtures Jewish identity, promotes student engagement, and builds strong relationships among students, faculty, and families.
• Serve as a trusted and accessible leader, building meaningful relationships with parents, community leaders, rabbis, alumni, and other stakeholders within the Sephardic Jewish community.

School Operations and Strategic Advancement

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the High School, including student affairs, policies, scheduling, budgeting, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
• Partner with school leadership to identify opportunities for growth, enhance educational programs, leverage best practices, and prepare the institution for future success. 

• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills;
• Robust, up-to-date understanding of best practices in high school teaching and learning;
• Commitment to developing broadly educated, ethical, self-confident, and compassionate Torah-observant students who value lifelong learning, community service, and personal growth;
• Strong supervision, mentorship, and support skills to effectuate a productive, collegial, and efficient teaching and learning environment, oriented towards professional growth among divisional faculty and staff;

• A sense of humor and joy in working with teens, their families, their teachers, and a school community;
• Robust empathy and emotional intelligence paired with outstanding interpersonal, diplomatic, and community-building skills;

Salary begins at $400,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
